Vacuum frying: way more healthy than you think!

No doubt deep-fried food is addictive; owing to its crispy nature, flavored with rich amounts of oil, salt, MSG, that stimulate euphoria. No matter how much we try to follow a healthy diet, snacking is just irresistible and unstoppable. This is why it is important that we consciously stock our homes with healthier snacks. And for this, you have to stop over the vacuum fried food aisle as you walk around the supermarket.

Fruits and vegetables contain a lot of moisture. This makes it mandatory to boil the water in the ingredients and eliminate it to make the food items crispy. The dehydrating techniques that are commonly used to do this, like deep-frying, air-frying, and baking, require the ingredients to undergo high heat of 180-300֯ C. But in the case of a vacuum fryer, the food items are boiled in a low-pressure chamber to make them crispy. Thus, the moisture boils away at a much lower temperature, i.e., between 60-80˚C.

This process helps in retaining most of the original nutrients in the vegetables and fruits, which tremendously increases the health benefits of the snack. Despite being extremely tasty, deep-fried snacks contain a high amount of oil absorption. But when the food items are put in a vacuum fryer, the vacuum-like environment makes the water boil more readily. Thus, the food is not actually cooked, retaining its flavor, nutrients, and natural composition. Also, vacuum fried foods look visibly brighter and more natural, as the ingredients are not oxidized.

Vacuum fried snacks taste just as great as traditionally fried snacks. So, they are the best options available to us if you want to be healthy, but also crave tasty snacks all the time. Vacuum fried snacks might be the best thing out there, as compared to the majority of the snacks available.
